Those are the ones that you stay up at night worrying about, spending the extra hours doing special treatments on, and much, much more.  One such case is #25, a Kemp’s ridley sea turtle who fought his way back to life.

If you thought The Globe’s historic pictures of the Aquarium were interesting, you might like this picture of a “mermaid” taken during festivities for the cornerstone laying ceremony in October, 1967. A big crane lowered the sequin-clad mermaid on to Central Wharf while the Boston Fire Department Band provided background music.
